A Walk In My Head

“There are people we wonder about but don't make attempts to contact. Perhaps we're afraid of empty conversations with someone or perhaps we're curious about someone whose life we watched for awhile from afar. Sometimes it's just been too long and sometimes we can't even articulate the need to know whatever happened to them. Where are they? Did they make it? Are they happy? Are they passionate about something in their lives? Are they anything like the people we once knew?” [ Audrey Beth Stein ]

Is there a friend you're worried about?
Is there a family member you're thinking of in a different land?
Is there a former colleague whom you've lost touch with?
Is there someone whom you've established & maintained regular contact with?

Are there people from whom you've maintained a deliberate distance?
Are there some whom you've cracked your head for a myriad of reasons to meet up?
Are there those who always receive a perpetual "Sorry, I'm busy. Some other time..." from you and the next time "some other time" arrives, "another day..." punctuates your reply ?

Do you bemoan that somebody never changes and yet appear to be taken by surprise when adjustments are made?

Why do we meet the people we meet?
Why do we avoid those we avoid?

"Take care" is a carelessly oft-used phrase.
How many of us genuinely care about the other party before we bid goodbye?

Take a walk in my head.
Who has the leash?
Do you?
