As Angelina's birthday was a day prior to Mich's, both fellow Scorpio pals saw it deem fit to celebrate their birthdays at Barfly, touted to be "a chic nightspot where the beautiful people continue to flock in search of haute cuisine, exotic cocktails and music".

Considering the fact that Barfly had staged an exclusive showcase of Corrinne May and Olivia Ong in August and October 2007 respectively, the current live band, Way Kool, didn't fall short of expectations and diced an initial quiet night. An influx of people beyond 10pm added to the appropriate bar bustle thereafter.

The ambience lived up to its hype with giant chandeliers cascading lusciously from above. The bill came up to $230 for three as Vincent abstained from solids and downed a martini instead. Tucking into a main course (scallops with a miniscule portion of fish no larger than the size of my palm), soup (Mushroom Cappucino $15) and martini each, I savoured in indulgence while lamenting the apparent Lilliput proportions.

3am marked the end of a very, very happy night. =)
