Twist and Shout!

Common sense told Mich that $500 was not a figure to be blown away at Monsoon Hair House which is owned by celebrity hairstylist Addy Lee (incidentally the arch-nemesis of hair mongul David Gan).

Thus, Mich trotted off to its sister salon, Twister, a joint collaboration between Addy Lee and Mediacorp artistes Mark Lee & Michelle Chia.

Hairstylist Wendy and I hit it off immediately. [ I love her asymmetrical bob! ] I found that we shared similar traits and proceeded to ask if she were a Scorpio like me. She replied, "Scorpio's best match!" and immediately, I chimed "Pisces!". We chorused in unison "Danger!" in response to some random topic and engaged in similar gregarious banter. However, Mich turned down the offer of being inducted as a member. Membership came at varying hefty price tags of $300, $500 and $700 respectively. *sweat*

Unknown to me, she is in charge of the hairstyles of celebrities and hosts in the weekly local entertainment programme that is screened on Saturdays. Additionally, she was handpicked to be Boss Addy's assistant in a live contest that showcased the latest hairstyles.

6 hours was frittered away on rebonding. Mich was too tired [ read : sian ] to plough through the Colouring & Japanese Treatment Sessions and so, get this, I'll be heading back to Twister on Tuesday to complete them. Quite the salon novice that I am, this is the only hair salon I've encountered that permits the return five days later to complete a promotional package which is normally laden with hidden costs or stifling terms and conditions at other salons.

Mich is duly impressed and forsees herself being a loyal customer of Wendy for a long, long while. Prior to this, Mich's hairstylist for haircuts had been Miss E of Reds Hairdressing since 1998. It was only after Miss E botched Mich's haircut 3 weeks ago did Mich decide it was time for a new hairstylist. My only grouse about Twister is the distance from home!
