22 Hours.

22 hours prop themselves on my eyelids, their gravity assured by the occasional sleight of lashes.

I struggle to stay awake, though sleep must I.

I have no reason to be awake, yet I am.

The amygdala registers familiarity.

It drifts into the unknown,

And all is at rest.
