Dua orang mahu dekat
Tapi hati-hati berat

Mahu kejar, mesti cepat
Simpan dalam, apa buat?

Sudah becakap, sudah buka pintu
Sudah bechaya, saya cinta kamu.

Hati dalam ada jantan satu.
Esok latang, kasi tahu dulu.

Apologies for the wonky structure. It is my first attempt at a Malay poem. Thanks to my Peranakan roots, I have a fair vocabulary range that is sufficient to come across as an Indonesian-Chinese on my mission trip. However, those who are proficient in the language will probably note the glaring errors in syntax! :)
