Jolly New Year's Eve, Everyone!

Yes, I do owe myself a tonne of pics to be uploaded.
  • Birthday
  • Anniversary
  • X'mas
And tomorrow's New Year's Eve?

I'm sick of all the celebrations.....why, wouldn't you? I've had all the above within a month!

Initial purile ecstasy has been mowed over by the enthusiasm of a plateau.

Why don't you, my dear reader, try celebrating virtually every week and let me know the outcome (aside from a few thousand bucks down the drain) ?

As such, forgive me should I deliver a piercing stare to anyone who utters, "Why didn't you celebrate New Year's Eve?" , "How can you be sick of celebrating?" and the like.

Have the party of your life, my dear reader!

I guess I'll be huddling somewhere in peace.

With the One who Loves Me.

To Be.

Give me time.

And I will forget that You made me smile.

= )

A Different Perspective.

Meow?

"Coz You Make Me Smile, Even Just For A While."

I've been awake for a while now
You got me feelin like a child now
Coz every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place

[ Chorus ]
It starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go

The rain is falling on my window pane
But we are hiding in a safer place
Under covers staying dry and warm
You give me feelings that I adore

[ Chorus ]

What am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way
I just mmmmm

[ Chorus ]

I've been asleep for a while now
You tuck me in just like a child now
'Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth

[ Chorus ]

Wherever wherever wherever you go
Wherever wherever wherever you go

Wherever you go
I always know
Coz you make me smile
Even just for a while.

Korea Rolls Out Its First USB Credit Card

Friday, December 28, 2007
The Electronic Times Internet

By Kim Joon-bae

Shinhan Card rolled out Korea’s first ever USB credit card on December 27.

The USB credit card provides the online and contactless payment function and works the post-paid transportation card as well.

The built-in IC chip includes the public authorization and the internet credit payment programs.
During the online payment, users do not need to insert the credit card number. Rather, they can pay by connecting the USB to the slot. At the franchise stores with the IC card reader, it enables the no-touch payment.

The card also supports the information inquiry and the automatic log-in service using the public authorization and the built-in internet payment programs.

However, it is limited for users to delete or save data so that the USB itself cannot be used as a portable storage device.

Shinhan Card plans to issue the existing plastic credit card, Shinhan Love Card, as well until the IC chip readers become popular among the franchise stores.

The company said, “It provides the online and contactless payment functions. And the card itself can be an accessory as well. We think those young customers familiar with the online and mobile payment will prefer the USB type credit card.”

26th December. =)

A lazy shoutout to all before sleep beckons :

Merry post-Christmas!

Happy Boxing Day!

As for Daniel, adding to this list would be 'Happy Diving at Manado!'

Additionally, 'Happy Shanghai-ing!' to Chuxian!

It's back to the haystack now for Mich.

Merry Christmas!

Back from a night of revelling that stretched from 8pm to 2.30am.

Consumption of a $100 set menu per pax that comprised of smoked salmon, grilled veal and almond nougat scarcely filled Mich's belly.

Thus, we headed to the adjacent pub/bistro (because Mich wasn't about to spend another $100 for an additional set to quell the hunger pangs) and there, Mich was all smiles with her dory fillet set, the 2nd set meal of her night! *Burp*

Stay tuned for pictures!

Merry Christmas, Everyone!
(and You.)

Picture This.

Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Hung up on your wall for the world to see

Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Remind us all of what we used to be

Confess to me
Every secret moment
Every stolen promise you've believed

Confess to me
All that lies between us
All that lies between you and me

Nightfall.

Where clusters drape on canopies tall,
Constellations beckon the nightfall.

Upon this wait amidst the galore,
Kitty yearns to see the Sun once more.

Why?

Who has the Answer?
Do You?

The Twelve Days Of Christmas : A Capella

You'd think that by now, you've heard it all - The Twelve Days of Christmas being done to death. This excellent rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas by the a capella group, Straight No Chaser, from Indiana University certainly quelled that notion! Watch out for the hilarious bits! =)

Off the Hook.

All was still until the following rattled along:

  • Esther : Hi babe, would love to meet up with you. City Hall 5.30pm?

  • Nur : Free for starbucks later?

  • Del : Hey, Mich. Where are you? Chill out at 9? I'm at Chinatown watching Chinese opera. Occupational hazard...haha... [ Del's just started work at the National Arts Council, the very field of his expertise. I'm uber happy for him! ]

  • Yucai & Rui : Michie, come out for supper! You're always not free for supper! PSK! [*PSK : an acronym coined by both guys.]

Compounding the list was something silly Yucai and Rui did that drew laughter.

For the record, Mich had her nose, ears and follicles buried in work, so the flurry of incoming requests were for nought.

Sorry, guys! =P

What's In A Name?

You.

Who are You?

Well, you are You, aren't you?

You.

Oh, what a Name.

Hinging on a Wedge.

I thought I knew You well.

There were many other sporadic thoughts that wafted capriciously. Either You have changed or I've never known You at all.

What have You left me with?

Where are the strung alphabets that were once cleverly crafted?

Where dialogue was formerly torrential, now silence hinges in the dead of the night.

Words went hand in hand with deeds. Multiplicity had no qualms about catching a glimpse of the facade - amidst shifting sands tucked away conveniently from blissful ignorance.

Days gave way to weeks. Weeks mounted to months, and months, formed years.
Childhood, adolescence, adulthood.

Half a lifetime for the Lie to be.

Half my lifetime.

And I, the wedge, should have known that my functionality ceases when doors are closed.

And It's A Baby Boy for Sophia!

7pm - A missed call from Sophia, the lady whom I trust with my regular eyelash perm.

9.26pm - Sophia's given birth to a healthy baby boy! The call was to cancel my appointment scheduled this Tuesday. Duh, but of course, Sophia darling! Congratulations to you and Tennan!

Nestled at Holland Village.

The lady boss, Dily Wang, a much sought-after commercial & wedding makeup artist. Widely-acknowledged to be the David Gan of makeup artists!

Portfolio includes familiar commercials endorsed by celebrities and magazine covers.

Where Mich lies for 1 hour in serenity. =)

Da-da-da-da-dum.

I've much to say, loads to blog about.

But I won't.

So here's turning the spotlight on something rather frivolous in a bid to distract from what's nestling in my head:

A run-in with Ting and a phone call to Leion meant that we had an impromptu 3-hr karaoke session at the spanking new Kallang Leisure Mall, but not before packing a McWings meal from the drive-thru outlet at Kallang to supplement the session. Thanks for driving all the way down for me, Leion! =)

And now, my mind drifts to that which is trash. Absolute trash to be incinerated when the time comes.

Oh yeah.

I'm not in a mood for kind words at this time.

I wonder why.

Guess, Guess, Guess!

Hmm, what is Mich up to?
Mich grins. =)Sssh! She ain't telling you!

Stay tuned to find out as more pics will be uploaded soon!

What Makes A Man?

  • Visionary - thinks long-term instead of short-term gratification.
  • Financially responsible.
  • Intelligent.
  • Isn't afraid to let the lady wear the pants at times.
  • Accomodating
  • Lists the lady as his top priority.
  • Diligent.
  • Motivated.
  • Resilient.
  • Thinks of his lady constantly.
  • Wakes up to drive his lady to work at unearthly hours when he starts work at a much later time.
  • Demonstrates his love via action instead of mere sugar-coated words.
  • Sacrifices for his lady.

That's the benchmark when it comes to the crunch.

For Mich.

Just so you'd know.

Show on Stage - Luo Zhixiang's Concert with Angelina

1 December 2007 (Sat)
Show on Stage - Luo Zhixiang
Indoor Stadium
8pm

Since bagging the top prize for a nondescript Aaron Kwok lookalike competition almost a decade ago, Luo Zhixiang has scaled to greater heights and is a household name in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore & Malaysia. Widely acknowledged for his acrid wit and comic timing, he is the current anchor host of Taiwanese entertainment, edging out even his predecessor, Jacky Wu, as his programmes are broadcast during the coveted slots during prime time. Locally, his infotainment programme is screened daily in the evening and a repeat telecast can be caught after midnight.

Therefore, I was in two minds about attending the concert . Though Show (his newly adopted moniker) was a bona fide host and I enjoyed watching him on the gogglebox on a daily basis, holding him in high regard as a live entertainer and filial son who was badly affected by his father's recent death, that wasn't the benchmark of an acclaimed singer.

However, Angelina, being the eager beaver, persuaded me to purchase a $100 ticket. ($98 tagged with a $2 Sistic administrative charge.)

In all honesty, I was expecting a humdrum monotony with a lacklustre performance. After the concert, well, let's just say that the guy deserved credit for his concerted effort because I'd actually enjoyed it! Additionally, I had no idea that Show could tinkle on the ivories, thus playing on my inclination towards musical talents. =)

[ Note: Yes, you could attribute this to being rather "cheena". The only reason why I survived Higher Chinese in secondary school was due to the sole fact that I picked up idioms from Chinese songs! It irks me when people coo, "You listen to Chinese songs?","But you're a banana!", "I thought you were into English Literature?" and the like. Hello? This is Singapore. I like to think of myself as being effectively bilingual, thank you very much. So while I do enjoy my Corrinne Mays and Michael Bubles, I'm quite happy tapping my feet to the Jay Chous and such. ]

A packed stadium at 8pm.
The lights dimmed and frenzied females started screaming.
(Nope, not me)
Show rising from the hidden platform.
An opening number.
Showing off his dance moves.
Nice profile.
I'm distracted by the varying backgrounds!
Getting ready for the next item.
Perforated squares. Nice!

"We got to show" - A pun on his showbiz moniker
What's a show without Show's famous chair dance ?It was time for an interactive activity.
A random member of the audience was chosen....
....and it turned out to be a guy!
Awkward laughs as the next item was a love song.
He gamely strides down the steps while holding hands with the chosen person.
The mortified guy backed away when Show tapped him on the shoulder.

One of my favourite pictures!

Very pretty backdrop

Shake it....
....Mama!
Special Guest Appearance by sweet young thing, Rainie Yang
Rainie did a cartwheel right into his arms. Wow.
Show bantering with Rainie

Rainie's final song.
Show appears and the audience gasps.
Belting a tune while tinkling on the ivories? Bingo!
Smashing performance.

Show getting emotional.

Such displays were lavishly utilised during the concert.
Another lovely backdrop!
Appearing again in style.
A catchy hip-hop number
Dazzling lights! Snazzy!
Show teasing the dancers before his next item.
Colour me.....
Green....
Yellow....
Red, Blue.....
Encore at 10pm.
Grand Finale at 10.20pm.
My camera battery went dead exactly at this instant.
A parting shot using Angelina's camera.
Mich is home!
